Charles Bowman, a Fayette resident, who suffered a brutal beatdown at the hands of Cayuga Nation Police officers around this time last year, has finally filed a civil lawsuit in Seneca County’s Supreme Court of the State of New York on Thursday, Feb. 25.
The suit individually names Mark Lincoln, the Cayuga Nation Police Department’s superintendent as well as Pathfinder Solutions, LLC, a private security operations company based out of Valparaiso, Indiana.

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office is providing new information on a fire that was reported in the town of Romulus earlier this week.
It happened on Monday around 9:50 a.m. when deputies responded to 2539 Vineyard Rd. in Romulus for the report of a working structure fire.
Deputies said the owners of the farm, identified as Stephen and Fannie Hertzler, called 911 to reporting a shop that was fully-engulfed in flames with a nearby barn at risk.
The Seneca County Sheriffâs Office has submitted its police reform plan, as mandated by Gov. Andrew Cuomo in 2020. Those plans were due by April 1, and while there were documented complaints in law enforcement circles after the initial announcement, Senecaâs law enforcement leaders viewed it as an opportunity.
There are a handful of important components, which have been points of contention in other communities across the U.S. They include updates to use of force training, crowd management control, community policing to develop relationships, de-escalation training, implicit bias training, and more.
âItâs been an opportunity to get better, and thatâs what we want to do,â Sheriff Tim Luce said of the plan.
