State officials announced Wednesday that more than 100 vaccination sites opened in the past week, adding 22 local health department, medical center and hospital locations as well as two new mass vaccination sites and 110 retail pharmacy stores.

RUSHVILLE Schuyler County Health Department at 233 N. Congress St. is one of more than 100 new sites in the state that will administer COVID-19 vaccinations.
This month, 134 locations have been added to the list of vaccination sites open to the public. There are now 517 locations in Illinois, including local health departments, medical centers and hospitals, mass vaccination locations and retail pharmacies.
The state is partnering with some Hy-Vee, Walgreens and Walmart pharmacies to provide vaccinations.
The current phase of vaccination, Phase 1B, includes about 3.2 million people in Illinois. Vaccinations are available only by appointment at this time based on available supplies.

Pike, others partnering on COVID-19 vaccines

Residents ages 65 or over in Pike, Schuyler and Brown counties have a second option to receive the COVID-19 vaccination this week through an agreement with Adams County Health Department.
Though the health departments in each of those counties is providing vaccinations, their smaller staffs are having trouble keeping pace with the large demand.
“Right now, we have more than 1,700 people that are 65 and over on our pre-registered list,” said Sharon Bargmann, Pike County Health Department’s nursing director. “When we can only do 200 to 300 a week, that is something that would take a long time.”
