105 students, staff impacted at Skowhegan Area High School after additional COVID-19 case
The high school shifted to remote learning on Friday and the administration is looking for ways to staff the building in order to resume hybrid learning on Monday.

Over 100 students and staff have been impacted after an additional case of COVID-19 was reported at Skowhegan Area High School on Friday.
In a letter sent to the community on Friday evening, School Administrative District 54 Superintendent Jon Moody said that there were two cases reported on Friday; one at the high school and another at Skowhegan Area Middle School. On Thursday, a case of COVID-19 was reported at the high school, resulting in a remote learning day on Friday for students.
Outbreak investigation opened at Skowhegan Area Middle School
It is believed that transmission may have occurred in school, but officials decided to keep the facility open after discussions with Maine Center for Disease Control & Prevention.

SKOWHEGAN Superintendent Jon Moody told the Maine School Administrative District 54 board of directors about an open outbreak investigation at Skowhegan Area Middle School.
Board members convened on Thursday to discuss district updates, including mascot imagery selection, the upcoming budget and COVID-19.
Moody said the coronavirus outbreak investigation had occurred Wednesday, and it is believed that transmission may have occurred in school. After discussions with Maine Center for Disease Control & Prevention, it was decided to keep the facility open.
