Roy Dan Adrian of Scranton | CBC Online - Carroll Broadcasting

Roy “Dan” Daniel Adrian, age 97, of Scranton, IA, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Accura Healthcare of Carroll.      Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 4, 2021 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton with Rev. Joyce Webb of the Scranton United Methodist Church officiating.  Casket bearers will be Dan’s family members.  Burial will be in the Scranton Township Cemetery.      Those in attendance at Dan’s service are asked to abide by Covid-19 social distancing guidelines.      Known to most as Dan, he was born on February 26, 1923 in Carroll, IA.  He was the son of  Roy and Elizabeth (Bilsborough) Adrian.  Dan grew up on his family’s farm near Ralston and graduated from Scranton High School in 1940.  Following high school he farmed with his father.  He was a lifelong member of the Scranton United Methodist Church.  Dan enjoyed reading the newspaper, playing slow pitch softball in his younger years, pla

Fidelity Bank plans downtown Scranton HQ, one of several projects to receive state grants

Fidelity Bank plans to establish a new headquarters in the heart of downtown Scranton and consolidate 140 well-paying jobs in the city while creating room to grow. Fidelity President and CEO Daniel Santaniello confirmed the bank’s plans Wednesday after state Sen. John Blake, D-22, Archbald, announced $9 million in state Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grants for several local projects. Fidelity’s $2 million RACP grant will defray the anticipated $8 million to $12 million cost of constructing a facility or renovating an existing downtown building to serve as the bank’s new corporate center, Santaniello said. “We believe that Northeastern Pennsylvania is driven by the success of the city of Scranton,” he said, noting Fidelity feels “it’s incumbent upon us as a corporate leader to look to relocate back into the city and bring . life-sustaining jobs back into the city.”
