LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. It s the start of what normally would be a busy time for holiday travel.
But with the pandemic, Newswatch 16 found fewer people at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport Wednesday morning.
The federal Transportation Security Agence says that from last Friday to Wednesday, more than 5 million people passed through checkpoints at airports.
That is down about 60% from the same time last year.
AAA is projecting that about 85 million people will still travel sometime from today and Jan. third, with most of them going by car.
