(WFIE) - Tuesday, the Commission on Homelessness for Evansville and Vanderburgh County announced it will conduct mobile clinics to provide COVID-19 vaccinations at area homeless shelters, housing and services agencies. [ The Commission is partnering with the Vanderburgh County Health Department, area healthcare organizations and volunteers using an equipped 14-passenger van provided by The Evansville Promise Zone. The Commission’s mobile clinic will make regular stops at local agencies beginning Wednesday and will continue every other week as needed.

The accident which occurred around 2pm involved six vehicles with 52 persons on board. It was gathered that the crash was caused by excessive speeding resulting in loss of control. An eyewitness said the victims were rescued by officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps and rushed to hospitals in the area. The state FRSC Sector Commander, Andrew Kumapayi, confirmed the incident. He said, “A multiple and serious crash happened at Ihiala opposite St Anthony Catholic Church at 2pm today, January 1, 2021.

Tribune Online learnt that the accident involved six vehicles with fifty-two occupants. The vehicles were identified as a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number AGB 268 ZT, Mark trailer with registration number GWA 456 YR, Toyota Hiace bus with registration number NEN 106 XQ, Acura MDX jeep with registration number NZM 764 LK, Macapolo luxury with registration number AKD 483 XF and Hyundai jeep with registration number EG 172 SMK. An eye witness told THE WHISTLER that the accident was a result of over-speeding.
