St Albans Museum + Gallery and Verulamium Museum reopen | St Albans & Harpenden Review

St Albans Museum + Gallery has officially reopened today amid the latest easing of lockdown restrictions. Verulamium Museum will also throw open its doors with new Covid-secure measures – which include visitors checking in on the NHS Covid app when they arrive and wearing face coverings whilst indoors.  Visitors will to St Albans Museum + Gallery will be treated to three new exhibitions. They include Behind the Mask, which celebrates 40 years of innovation, and Lockdown Life – displaying how people in St Albans have responded to lockdown’s challenges. Barecats automata from Cabaret Mechanical Marvels There will also be an exhibit called Pandemic Portraits – which will involve a short film being displayed in the Timeline Gallery of the museum.

St Albans Street Food Market to celebrate festival of Eid

The event will include food stalls from Infuse, Moroccan Kitchen and Churro Boyz, and will feature a henna artist, hijabs, authentic sweets, homeware gifts, Eid cards, bubble tea and mocktails. It runs in Market Place between 4-8pm, and the evening will be rounded off with a live Athan and St Albans Museum being illuminated in green to mark the end of Ramadan and to celebrate Eid.
