A Bahamian man who allegedly assaulted a prison warder while in jail in Jamaica is claiming that he’s being unlawfully held in custody.
Codio Johnson made the claim in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court yesterday while answering allegations that he struck and injured the warder on February 2.
He denied the allegation while making his case for his freedom.
Johnson explained that he pleaded guilty last November in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court to an unrelated incident and that his sentence was completed.
He said he was at a loss as to why he was held in custody after completing his sentence and that he wanted to go home.
