Foreign stocks considered for derivative warrants published : 16 Jul 2021 at 04:00 Local investors may be granted new access to foreign shares this year through derivative warrants (DW) as the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) is asking for approval from the regulator to use international stocks as an underlying asset for the product, says SET senior executive vice-president Rinjai Chakornpipat. The SET recently completed a public hearing to promote cross-border investment products through DWs, a derivative investment product that gives the holder the right to purchase (call DW) securities from the issuer, or the right to sell (put DW) securities at a specific price within a certain time frame.

BANGKOK, 16 July 2021: Thai Airways International resumes flights to just 10 countries for the timetable period ending 30 September, according to an announcement made to the Stock Exchange of Thailand earlier this week. It followed on from the airline’s confirmation, 1 July, that it was flying direct weekly services to Phuket from Frankfurt, Paris and Zurich in support of the island “Sandbox” project. In its latest announcement, it scotched domestic flights from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, Phuket and Krabi. In addition, the notice to SET revealed the suspension extends to most of the airline’s passenger services to Asian destinations, including services to most capital cities in the ASEAN region that were once core revenue earners for the airline.
