Suspect wanted for domestic violence tries to run from officers Jimmie Dale Wheeler
A 32-year-old Ceres man wanted on a domestic violence charge tried to elude officers after he was spotted on Sunday but was later captured.
Officer Eric Souza was on patrol at 12:26 p.m. when he saw Jimmie Dale Wheeler backing a vehicle out of his driveway in the 3400 block of Central Avenue. Officer Souza knew Wheeler was wanted for domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon charges from a prior incident in Modesto.
Officer Souza blocked the vehicle in the driveway but Wheeler ran into his backyard and jumped a fence into a field in the 2100 block of Pine Street. Wheeler ran to the alley in the 2100 block of the Harold Street where Officer Souza lost sight of him.

Police arrest man who created disturbance in two stores Charged with smuggling drugs into jail Jackson Pinney
A 28-year-old Oakdale man believed to be high on drugs was arrested Wednesday evening, March 31 after he reportedly caused a disturbance in two stores on Hatch Road.
Jackson Pinney was reportedly aggressive in a verbal altercation with employees of Big 5 Sporting Goods, 1450 E. Hatch Road, before taking items from the shelves and leaving at 4:55 p.m.
Officer Jessica Graham responded to the 9-1-1 call and found Pinney inside the Togo’s sandwich shop causing another disturbance. Officer Graham noticed Pinney appeared to be under the influence of drugs. He was verbally and physically aggressive as she spoke to him. She attempted to get Jackson to place his hands behind his back but he refused and tried to get away from her. Officer Graham had to use minimal force to take Jackson into custody.
