TAMPA, Fla. (AP) NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman cast doubt Monday on whether the league will send its players to the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, citing safety and logistical concerns as well as a tightening time frame.

The WNBA announced on Monday that 99% of its players have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The WNBA has a higher percentage of vaccinated players than any other major U.S. sports league that has announced its vaccination rates.
In a statement, the WNBA said “99 percent of the league’s players are now fully vaccinated, and all 12 teams have met the threshold for being considered a fully-vaccinated team.”
The WNBA players’ union thanked the medical professionals who helped educate players about the vaccine in a tweet. “Thank you to all of the experts, physicians and other healthcare professionals who dedicated time to our player-led vaccine education sessions during the offseason!” the WNBPA wrote.

It s been almost five months since the last American pro sports team was crowned, and it was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers winning the Super Bowl at their home stadium in Tampa, Florida. The Stanley Cup Finals began Monday night in Southwest Florida, and the defending champion Tampa Bay Lightning throttled the Montreal Canadiens, 5-1.
The Lightning took a 2-1 lead into the third period before erupting for three goals, giving them a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
The Lightning s Erik Cernak got the scoring started in the first period to put the champs ahead. Yanni Gourde put Tampa Bay ahead, 2-0, nearly six minutes into the second period before Montreal s Ben Chiarot scored his first goal of the playoffs.

The NHL announced the location of the 2022 NHL All-Star Game and the dates and locations for the Winter Classic and Stadium Series games on Monday evening.
The All-Star Game will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas at the midpoint of the NHL season, with dates for the event-packed weekend to be named later.
The Winter Classic will be held on Jan. 1, 2022 at Target Field in Minnesota, in a matchup of the Wild vs. St. Louis Blues.
The Stadium Series will be held on Feb. 26, 2022 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville between the Nashville Predators and Tampa Bay Lightning.
