Woman Charged With DUI After Crash In Westport

Read / Add Comments Nearly a year after being implicated for allegedly drinking and driving before a midday crash, a Fairfield County woman was arrested, police said. Officers from the Westport Police Department responded to a reported crash in the area of North Avenue at Cross Highway at approximately 3:30 p.m. on June 23, 2020. The investigation into the crash determined that Westport resident Dianna Seeler was allegedly responsible for causing the accident by failing to yield at a stop sign and crashing into a second vehicle. Police said that during the investigation into the crash, officers noted that Seeler appeared disoriented and had difficulty maintaining her balance.

Published April 03. 2021 10:41PM  STAMFORD (AP) A man accused of choking a woman to unconsciousness after meeting her through the Tinder dating app has applied for pre-trial probation and hopes his criminal charge can be erased. But a prosecutor says strangulation is too serious a crime for the program. Socrates Alicea is charged with first-degree strangulation but applied for accelerated rehabilitation in Stamford Superior Court on Thursday. The program results in criminal charges being erased if a probation period is successfully completed. Senior Assistant State s Attorney Joseph Valdes said he will oppose Alicea s request, citing the seriousness of the allegations and evidence that has yet to be released, the Stamford Advocate reported.
