Waterfront Group sues Allegheny Wood Products over property sale issue

KINGWOOD Waterfront Group WV is suing Allegheny Wood Products for a property issue. David L. Hough and Cynthia F. Graves were also named as defendants in the suit. Allegheny granted Hough and Graves a right of first refusal for 2.98 acres of land in Preston County on Oct. 5, 2004, and on March 3, 2020, Allegheny conveyed over 1,000 acres situated in Preston County to the plaintiff and developed portions of the property for residential use and began to sell the lots, according to a complaint filed in Preston Circuit Court. A portion of one of the lots was subject to the right of first refusal and after the sale, Hough and Graves demanded to be sold a portion of the lot, despite being aware of the purchase before the sale was consummated, according to the suit.

Insurance company sues Ford for defective vehicle

KINGWOOD Arch Insurance is suing Shaffer Ford Sales alleging a vehicle was defective and caused damages. Arch Insurance Company, as subrogee of Aurora Volunteer Fire Department, filed the lawsuit against Shaffer Ford Sales and Ford Motor Company after the fire department purchased a 2004 Ford F-Super Duty 550 and brought the vehicle in for repairs on March 15, 2019, according to a complaint filed in Preston Circuit Court. Arch insured the vehicle for the department. The vehicle was losing power, emitting black smoke and made a loud pop sound and Shaffer replaced the turbo, the charge air cooler, performed multiple filter changes and the lube and oil. Two weeks later, the vehicle was ready for pickup and once the department got the truck back to the station, it was emitting an unusual odor.

The Panama Canal, MIT and CCT have signed Memorandums of Understanding to establish an alliance of cooperation and explore working together to form a logistic hub on the Atlantic side of the Panama Canal for the storage and distribution of the vaccine and supplies for the region.
