Islanders Urged To Get Ready For Ventnor Day This Summer

On the day that the Illuminated Carnival was planned for Islanders are instead being encouraged to get behind Ventnor Day .
The event this summer (August), will involve music, performances and stalls.
The Carnival Committee is working with the Town Council to organise it.
They hope it will be an opportunity to celebrate the strength of the town’s community spirit.
Stewart Blackmore, Mayor of Ventnor said:
Ventnor Day will take place on Saturday, August 14, at Ventnor Park, from 12pm to 5pm. It would usually be the date of the town s illuminated carnival, which is unable to take place this year. However, the carnival committee is working with the town council to organise the event. A spokesperson said: Ventnor Day is an opportunity to celebrate the strength of our town’s community spirit and our voluntary and community sector with music, performance, stalls, and food in the picturesque setting of Ventnor Park. Stewart Blackmore, incumbent Ventnor Mayor, said: I’m immensely proud of our town and its sense of community and pleased the town council is supporting Ventnor Day.

With carnival season cancelled this year Ventnorians are being encouraged to put Saturday 14th August in their diaries for the return of Ventnor Day.

Carnival Committee and VTC
Saturday 14th would have been the date of the Illuminated Carnival – which is unable to take place this year, so the Carnival Committee are instead working with the Town Council to help organise the event.
