The Sheriff s Office says the bus was from the Stewartville School District and no children were injured. The accident happened just before 1pm in the 7300 block of County Road #6 SW. The Olmsted County Sheriff s Office says the semi driver apparently did not see the bus stopped in the road to drop off children. The semi driver tried to miss the school bus and jackknifed the semi, which ended up in the ditch and the road. The Sheriff s Office says there is no indication that drugs or alcohol played any role in this accident.

KAAL-TV Created: May 07, 2021 03:52 PM (ABC 6 News) - The Olmsted County Sheriff s Office is investigating a crash involving a semi-trailer and school bus in High Forest Township Friday. Just before 1 p.m., a school bus carrying six children from the Stewartville School District was stopped in the 7300 block of County Road 6 SW. Authorities say the semi-driver did not see the school bus and attempted to avoid the crash, and as a result, became jack-knifed in the ditch and roadway. At this time, there is no indication of any alcohol or controlled substance use by any drivers.   No children were injured in this crash and the crash remains under investigation.

Semi-Truck Involved in Crash With School Bus Near Stewartville Get our free mobile app Stewartville, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Olmsted County Sheriff s Office responded this afternoon to a crash involving a school bus and a semi-truck. Sheriff s Captain Scott Behrns says there were six children from the Stewartville School District on the bus when the incident occurred just before 1 PM on Olmsted County Road 6 about four miles west of Stewartville in High Forest Township. Behrns says none of the children were injured. An initial investigation has determined the school bus had stopped on the roadway to drop off some of the children and the driver of the truck apparently did not realize the bus was stationary. In an attempt to avoid a collision, the truck ended up jackknifed in the ditch and on the roadway.
