The new mayor of High Wycombe has been announced. Cllr Andrea Baughan, who was re-elected in the Ryemead and Micklefield ward in the Buckinghamshire Council elections, will take on the prestigious role for the next year. She will be formally elected at the Charter Trustees of High Wycombe s annual general meeting on June 12. Cllr Lesley Clarke OBE and Cllr Nabeela Rana will be the mayor s consort. Andrea was born in Lancaster but the family moved down to Hazlemere in 1971 where she and her sister attended local schools in Holmer Green. After A-levels at Bucks College (now Bucks New University), Andrea worked as a Residential Social Worker with adolescents and worked with friends to organise Wycombe’s first Green Festival on the Rye.
