Open appointments for a coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine on Staten Island are scarce on Monday, the first day that first responders, education workers, public transit workers, public safety workers and residents aged 75 and older can begin getting vaccinated. At least three of the borough’s vaccination hubs are no longer accepting appointments and many other web pages would not load, likely due to high volume, and there were long hold times at other locations.
