With the holidays around the corner, the Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Department and myFM News are joining up for the 12 Days of Fire and CO Safety tips. myFM News will be providing you with a new tip each day leading up to Christmas weekend. Today marks day #8 and Fire Chief, Brian George talks about maybe not going with real candles this year.
George adds candle wax could be a fire hazard because it is a Parafin product which is flammable as well and could be dangerous if not cleaned up properly. Monday we will continue with Day 9 of our 12 Days of Fire and CO Safety Tips.

Santa has come to town courtesy of the Strathroy Hometown Festival and myFM Radio. He’s here for the two-day Santa Cruise and Holiday Food Drive, which begins today. But, you might have seen Santa in the community already. He says he’s had a great time in the area the last couple of weeks.

Today marks day #6 and Fire Chief, Brian George talks about being careful when plugging in lights and other power dependant items.
George adds some power bars are not designed with circuit breakers in them and that would contribute to nesting which is too many wires into a power bar into one single plug on the wall. Join us for Day 7 of our 12 days of fire safety tips tomorrow.

Christmas is getting closer and with that the Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Department and myFM News want all families to be safe this holiday season. The 12 Days of Christmas Fire Safety tips is upon us and myFM News we will be providing you with a new tip each day leading up to Christmas weekend. Today marks day #5 and Fire Chief Brian George says making a family fire escape plan is important and should be reviewed monthly. He also says just because you only have one door doesn’t mean there’s no second exit.
