There hasn t been a public shooting range in Stutsman County for nearly six years, although a group is now in the preliminary stages of planning an indoor shooting range and educational center, according to Keith Domke, president of the Jamestown Marksmanship Educational Range. We want to build several 25-yard ranges and 100-yard facilities indoors, he said. All built to NRA (National Rifle Association) standards so no rounds can get out of the buildings.

The Jamestown Finance Committee recommended approval of $600,000 in funding Monday evening for what the Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corp. is referring to as a pathway to success for the Buffalo City Park Project.
The committee voted 4-0 with Councilman David Schloegel absent from the special meeting. The committee meeting had been moved from its normal Tuesday date to Monday because of North Dakota League of Cities meetings planned for Tuesday, April 20.
