Promising to put Edmonds first, Kristiana Johnson kicks off campaign to retain her council seat

A group of more than 50 supporters gathered on Thursday evening at Claire’s Restaurant in Edmonds to help 12-year Edmonds City Councilmember Kristiana Johnson kick off her campaign for re-election to a fourth term.  Johnson is facing two challengers in the Position 1 race: Edmonds Citizens’ Planning Board Vice Chair and Snohomish County Airport Commission Chair Alicia Crank, and Brian Hartman, Senior Director of Enterprise Technology at Blue Origin. It may be early February, but Edmonds City Council election season is well underway, with Position 1 candidate Alicia Crank holding her campaign kickoff remotely Monday night to an enthusiastic audience gathered via Zoom and Facebook. The event included several speakers from business owners to community leaders who offered their unqualified support for electing Crank to the council in November. They included Andy and Kristen Cline, owners of downtown Edmonds’ Cline Jewelers. Kristen Cline said that Crank is “completely invested in our community,” and pointed to the range of efforts the candidate has immersed herself including the upcoming Edmonds International Women’s Day event, which Crank founded three years ago.

Alicia Crank named GSBA 2020 Business and Humanitarian Awards finalist

MY EDMONDS NEWS Posted: December 23, 2020 Alicia Crank Edmonds resident Alicia Crank was named a finalist in the community leader category of the 2020 Business and Humanitarian Awards, sponsored by the Greater Seattle Business Association (GSBA). The GSBA is Washington state’s LGBTQ and allied chamber of commerce, and the largest LGBTQ chamber in North America. The organization’s annual awards now in their 40th year honor businesses, nonprofits and community leaders who demonstrate excellence and success in their business or profession. Crank was one of three finalists for the community leader award, which was given to Montserrat Padilla, activist and lead at Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network. The other finalist was Manny Santiago, president of Washington State’s LGBTQ Commission.
