About 30 seconds later, a Tesla crashed into the patrol car that had its emergency lights flashing, causing “significant damage.” No one was injured in the accident.  ABC News reports the driver of the Tesla told authorities he had the car’s Autopilot feature enabled and believed the vehicle would slow down and move to avoid the patrol car on its own. The driver was issued a citation for the accident.  “Thankfully, there were no injuries from this collision. This is a great reminder that vehicles may have autopilot to assist, but it cannot be relied upon to get you safely from one destination to the next,” the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post Monday. 

Police Are Leaving Seattle in Droves – PJ Media

Cops are leaving Seattle in droves. Jason Rantz of KTTH radio in Seattle reports that the police brain drain continues apace with 66 cops giving notice of their leave so far. A total of 100 police officers are expected to flee the approximately 1,200-person force by the end of May. Rantz says that several sources verified the numbers, although the city of Seattle hasn’t yet officially divulged them. Though the city has not yet officially released staffing numbers, officials have expressed significant concern publicly and privately about the staffing situation. The city does not have enough officers to safely protect our neighborhoods or respond to emergencies.

Their concerns are linked to how the district handled two separate incidents against students of color. They claim school leaders did not do enough soon enough after several suspected hate crimes and reports of death threats. The alleged hate crimes involved students at Marysville Pilchuck High School. They happened in December and January but the students accused of making the death threats weren’t even disciplined until this past week.
