(WCSC) - The Todd family has settled a lawsuit filed against several law enforcement agencies over the 2018 assault and kidnapping at their Johns Island house. Thomas Evans is serving four life sentences for the crime spree that included assaulting Brittany Todd and kidnapping her then-four-year-old daughter. He was also sentenced on charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, burglary, and attempted murder.

Timothy Houser, of Lincolnton, North Carolina, made a forced landing at about 3 p.m. in a field about five miles north of Spartanburg at a construction site off Cannons Campground Road. Houser walked away with a few minor scrapes on his face. Houser told deputies with the Spartanburg County Sheriff s Office he lost power while in the air and decided to make an emergency landing. Maria Njoku, FAA Media Relations Southern Region spokeswoman, said Tuesday the FAA s investigation includes determining where the plane took off and where it was scheduled to land.
