On Jan. 29, members of the team, along with Command Sgt. Maj. Paul Mantha, Fort McCoy Garrison command sergeant major, carried the ceremonial torch for the event for 2 miles from the Sparta Chamber of Commerce building through downtown Sparta to Memorial Park where a group of city residents awaited. Sparta Quest Winter Fest makes a comeback
Attendees were able to participate in Snowshoe races, a kickball tournament, as well as tubing and skiing competitions

The Sparta Area Chamber of Commerce was able to revive the Sparta Quest Winter Fest.
While the event won’t get you closer to the Iditarod, there were still plenty of fun activities for the entire family.
Attendees were able to participate in Snowshoe races, a kickball tournament, as well as tubing and skiing competitions.
To many involved, this event couldn’t have come at a better time.
“Everyone’s been cooped up inside and things haven’t been quite as normal as they used to be. But people need to get outside, we need to see the community coming together, and that’s what we’re about,” said Erica Culpitt, the Membership Specialist for the Sparta Area Chamber of Commerce.
Sparta Quest Winter Fest Returns

The Sparta Quest Winter Fest is making a comeback today through Saturday.
The event kicks off tonight with a snowshoe hike at t Ridge in Fort McCoy at 8:00 PM.
Over the course of Friday and Saturday, there will be events and tournaments for kids and adults.
Most of the events are free so people can get out of the house, and maybe try something different.
The closing ceremonies will be held at 6 PM on Saturday, January 30th.
