Credit Michele Skalicky A mass COVID-19 vaccination site in Springfield is closing. The site at the corner of Grand and Kansas Expressway was operated by the Springfield-Greene County Health Department and Jordan Valley Community Health Center.  It opened February 3, and more than 41,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered there. According to the health department, the focus has shifted to offering clinics in smaller, more convenient settings as the availability of the vaccine has increased. The health department and Jordan Valley will continue to offer vaccine clinics at places like businesses, nonprofits, churches, events and neighborhood centers. And Jordan Valley is offering walk-in clinics Monday through Friday from 8 to 3 with extended hours Tuesday from 8 to 6 at their 618 N. Benton location.

As Businesses Navigate New Normal, Local Health Department Offers Advice

Credit velkr0 / Flickr The Springfield-Greene County Health Department continues to offer advice to businesses even though the COVID-19 restrictions in the city have been lifted. The health department updated the COVID-19 Toolkit for Businesses.  It can be found at health.springfieldmo.gov/business. According to the health department, the toolkit was updated “to serve as a resource that provides employers with best practices for preventing the spread of COVID-19, based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).” It includes updated policy templates regarding masking, prevention and response procedures, answers to frequently asked questions, printable masking signs in addition to past resources such as contact tracing logs and other COVID-19 information for businesses.

Mayor To Withdraw Proclamation Of Civil Emergency As COVID-19 Regulations Expire

Credit CDC Springfield Mayor Ken McClure is planning to withdraw the Sixth Proclamation of Civil Emergency at 11:59 Thursday night. That s the same time the city’s COVID-19 regulations expire. According to the city in a news release, COVID-19 is becoming an endemic disease, which will continue to affect people, especially those who are unvaccinated.
