Suspects in February slaying of Springfield teen to face arraignment after arrests in Florida

SPRINGFIELD Two suspects who were arrested last week in Orlando, Florida in connection with a February homicide in the city’s South End are expected to be returned soon to Springfield for arraignment.
The suspects, Fernando Massey, 23, and Quamel Batchelor, 24, both of Springfield, are charged in connection with the Feb. 26 shooting death of Robert Crochiere.
Crochiere, 18, of Springfield, was shot around 2:45 a.m. near Main and Locust streets while he was in the line at a McDonald’s drive-through window, police said.
DA identifies Reginald Dessasure of Springfield as Tuesday homicide victim

SPRINGFIELD Authorities have identified the man killed in a shooting Tuesday night.
The Hampden district attorney’s office reported that 27-year-old Reginald Dessasure of Springfield died of his wounds at Baystate Medical Center Wednesday morning.
Dessasure and two others suffered gunshot wounds in an incident at a home on William Sands Road about 10 p.m. Tuesday.
One survivor was taken to Baystate Medical Center by ambulance, while the other was taken to the emergency room in a private car. Both are listed in stable condition at the hospital.
