Riley said that she realized she had a passion for hairdressing after watching her mother braid her sister’s hair. “When I was an infant, my mother used to call me her little hairdresser. It was like she saw it in me before I saw it in myself. Looking back, I think I became engrossed in the art of hairdressing from watching my mom plait my sister’s hair for school,” she said.
