CHIKAMING TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Tuesday, Michigan State Police (MSP) troopers were involved in a vehicle pursuit that resulted in a crash on the I-94 Freeway westbound near Lakeside Road (mile marker #6) around 4:00 p.m. in Chikaming Township, Berrien County.
Officials say that while on patrol, troopers were provided information about a possible stolen vehicle traveling westbound on I-94 Freeway near Red Arrow Highway. After a brief search, the vehicle was observed with one male occupant.

A 66-year-old Farmington man is facing charges after a high-speed chase in Berrien County on Tuesday. Michigan State Police say troopers got word of a possible stolen vehicle headed west on I-94 near Red Arrow Highway shortly before 4 p.m. They spotted the vehicle and tried to pull it over but the driver sped off, leading troopers on a chase that ended about 4 p.m. near Lakeside Road in Chikaming Township. Police say it appeared the driver intentionally crashed the vehicle into into the guardrails on the right shoulder of the road. That caused the vehicle to cross back over three lanes of travel and come to a stop after striking the median cable barrier. The driver was taken to Spectrum Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph for non-life-threatening injuries and released later in the evening. The vehicle had been reported stolen by Enterprise Rental to the Waterford Township Police Department in March after the driver failed to return it. The driver is facing charges of fle
