Sheriff s office responding to collision between car and firetruck on Palouse Highway

Spokane County Sheriff’s Office deputies are responding to collision between a car and a firetruck on Palouse Hwy. near Valleyford, closing the highway. The sheriff’s office said the crash occurred at around 7:25 p.m. on Friday night near Weger Rd. on the highway, involving a small car and a Spokane County Fire District 8 firetruck. Initial information indicates the car was traveling west on the highway when it crossed over the centerline and struck the side of the firetruck. They said the driver of the car was taken to the hospital with what appeared to be serious injuries, but were not believed to be life-threatening. The driver of the firetruck did not appear to be injured.

Fatal motorcycle crash in south Spokane County, road closed

Spokane investigators are responding to a fatal motorcycle crash in south Spokane County, which has closed Malloy Prairie Rd for a couple hours. Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said at around 2:40 p.m. on Thursday, Deputies responded to a motorcycle crash at S. Malloy Prairie Rd. near S. Harrison Rd. where callers reported the rider, a man reported to be in his 20s, was severely injured and not moving. Spokane County Fire personnel gave the rider medical aid, but the rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff’s office said initial information indicated the motorcycle was traveling north on Malloy Prairie Rd. when the rider reportedly failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The motorcycle struck the guardrail, ejecting the rider. Despite wearing a helmet, the rider sustained severe injuries.

KXLY July 1, 2021 7:15 PM Elenee Dao SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. Every minute counts in an emergency. Getting police on scene quicker could mean the difference between a life saved and a life lost. New technology will let Spokane Valley Police and sheriff’s deputies have a faster response. Deputies and police officers will now get to hear live 911 calls as they’re happening. They can then take action immediately, something they’ve never been able to do before. The Spokane Valley Police Department is the first agency in the northwest to use the fairly new program called Live 911. Police normally get their calls and information from dispatch, which takes a minute or two to gather information to relay over to authorities.
