Police then located Harney approximately 363 feet east of Airport Road.
After speaking with friends, police learned that Harney was an experienced skydiver who had just had his jumping gear serviced prior to the jump.

Edward Harney and three other skydivers jumped from 14,000 feet in the air at Sky s the Limit Inc., a skydiving company in Smithfield Township, Pennsylvania State Police said.
Harney began to spiral and spin once his parachute opened it appeared to separate from him, investigators said. He disappeared into a wooded area east of Airport Road.
According to PSP, Harney was an experienced skydiver who had jumped multiple times at Sky s the Limit Inc. Police found Harney at 11:35 a.m., and the Monroe County Coroner s Office pronounced him dead on the scene.

74-year-old man dies while skydiving in Monroe County

A 74-year-old man was killed in a skydiving accident in Monroe County Sunday morning.
Ed Harney, of Paramus, New Jersey, was found dead in a wooded area in Smithfield Township, near East Stroudsburg, WNEP is reporting.
According to reports, Harney’s parachute opened, but it got separated from him during his descent. Witnesses saw him disappear into the wood line.
Harney’s friends told police he was an experienced skydiver and had jumped many times before.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident, WFMZ is reporting.
He had jumped with three other experienced skydivers from a plane with Sky’s the Limit Skydiving Center, reports indicate.
