Covid-19 Vaccine for pregnant women attending Sligo University Hospital Reporter:   ); The Maternity Unit at Sligo University Hospital is arranging for women who are between 14 and 36 weeks’ gestation to get their COVID-19 vaccine at the vaccination centre at Sligo IT. Women who have antenatal appointments will have an opportunity to discuss the COVID-19 vaccine with their midwife or doctor. Afterwards their contact details will be passed on to the vaccination centre to arrange an appointment, should they decide to proceed with vaccination. In addition the hospital has set up a COVID-19 vaccination line for pregnant women between 14 and 36 weeks’ gestation to call if they are interested in getting the vaccine. The number is 071 9190300 and women can call between 2pm and 3pm, Monday to Friday.

CANCELLATIONS ·         Endoscopy services are cancelled. A number of procedures may go ahead and these patients will be contacted directly. Patients are asked not to come to the hospital unless contacted directly. OUTPATIENT CLINICS A small number of appointments may go ahead and these patients will be contacted directly. Maternity antenatal clinics are going ahead. MATERNITY SERVICES DIALYSIS CHEMOTHERAPY EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT The Emergency Department is still open for all emergencies. Patients needing urgent care will be prioritised.

Disruption to services at Sligo University Hospital to continue this week Reporter:   ); The service disruptions at Sligo University Hospital as a result of the ransomware attack on the HSE IT systems are expected to continue for the rest of this week. CANCELLATIONS ·         All diagnostics including x-ray, CT scans, MRI appointments and cardiac investigations are cancelled. ·         Endoscopy services are cancelled. ·         All elective inpatient and day case procedures are cancelled; a small number of procedures may go ahead and in this event patients will be contacted directly. EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT Patients can expect significant delays in the Emergency Department as existing IT systems are not in use and the manual workarounds in place are time-consuming.
