.- Elvira Dyangani Ose (Córdoba, 1974) will be the first woman to hold the position of Director of the Museu dArt Contemporani de Barcelona. She is currently Director and Chief Curator of The Showroom in London, as well as Lecturer in Visual Cultures at Goldsmiths, University of London, and a member of the Thought Council, Fondazione Prada. She has previously been Curator of the Göteborg International Biennial of Contemporary Art; Curator of International Art at Tate Modern, London; Artistic Director of Rencontres Picha - Lubumbashi Biennial, Democratic Republic of the Congo; Curator of Contemporary Art at the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo (CAAC), Seville; Senior Curator at Creative Time in New York; and Curator of Contemporary Art at the Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno (CAAM) in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria.

Emergency support and incentives to culture

The Government proposes that the area of culture be allocated an additional SEK 750 million for extended emergency support and incentives in 2021 to mitigate the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and facilitate the resumption of activities once the situation allows. The proposal is based on an agreement between the government parties, the Centre Party and the Liberal Party.
The situation for cultural actors throughout the country remains difficult, and the Government therefore wants to extend the emergency support distributed to public cultural activities, artists and other actors in the area of culture. Most of the emergency support will be distributed by the Swedish Arts Council, which will also distribute support to the regions for regional and local cultural activities. Multi-award winning Swedish director Anna Eborn has presented her fifth feature-length project at the Visions du Réel’s Pitching forum, one of the key industry sections at the documentary film fest in Nyon, Switzerland.
The two-time Dragon Award-winner for Best Nordic Documentary at Sweden’s Göteborg Fest (for “Transnistria” in 2019 and “Pine Ridge” in 2014) was brought onboard by Stockholm-based production company Film and Tell.

A coming-of-age doc about the effects of childhood cancer treatment on young adults, “Aana” (a working title) is still in early development. Film and Tell has secured funding from the Swedish Film Institute and the Swedish Arts Grants Committee, and is in search of co-producers to close the €500,000 ($600,000) budget, as well as international distributors.
