The 26-year-old showed up the night of Feb. 18 in Marion, Alabama, where hundreds of people had gathered to march in protest of the arrest of a local civil rights activist. When police and state troopers intervened to break up the march, the scene outside Zion United Methodist Church turned violent.

Percy Leonard Pat Fulcher, 75, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away at Bridgepoint Hospital-Capital Hill on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. He was born on June 5, 1945 to the late Percy Edward Fulcher and Dorothy Norris Fulcher. After high school, Pat enlisted in the United States Air Force. He would go on to serve his country and family proud. On leave after his heroic time in Vietnam, Pat would meet his future wife, Janet. After twenty years of dedicated service, he would retire honorably. Pat was a kind and compassionate man, who loved his wife, beyond all measure. Their love was true and they ve spent over fifty-one years being the constant and best part of each other. Although they never had any children, Pat loved his nieces and nephews like his own.
