A judge erred in not admitting a cellphone video as evidence and a prosecutor took advantage of it, compounding a mistake that denied a Jersey City man a fair trial in 2017, the New Jersey Supreme Court ruled Wednesday.

The family of a Jersey City man wanted in a fatal stabbing last week is urging the man to surrender to police.
Attorney Mitchell Ignatoff, speaking for the family, told The Jersey Journal Thursday morning that the family is concerned for the safety of 30-year-old Elvis Santana, who is accused in the murder of Mathew Mortimer in the vestibule of a building on Avenue C on March 2.
