Jersey City Uncle Arrested In Child Abuse Case Involving Cig Lighter, His Own Niece & Nephew

Read / Add Comments A Jersey City man was charged with child abuse for burning his niece and nephew, ages 6 and 9, with a cigarette lighter, authorities said Tuesday. The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit on Dec. 28 got a tip from the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency alleging two Jersey City children were being abused, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The investigation found that 21-year-old Jaimear Butler had physically abused a 9-year-old boy and 6-year-old girl by intentionally burning their bodies with a cigarette lighter, Suarez said. It was not clear how Butler knew the children.

The onslaught of slurs ended when Bordeaux reached a convenience store, where two women demanded that Emanuele stop her tirade. Bayonne police arrested Emanuele at her home Monday afternoon, said Capt. Eric Amato. The West 17th Street resident had moved from Tennessee in September, he added.

Paramus Hires 10 Officers to Start 2021

PARAMUS, NJ - The borough hired 10 police officers at its final meeting of 2020. The following officers were officially approved by a 4-3 vote at the Dec. 28 council meeting at a starting salary of $45,048. The following biographies were issued by Chief of Police Kenneth Ehrenberg. Jamie Takahashi was born in New York City and is a long time resident of Paramus. Jamie graduated from Paramus High School, and then went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University in economics. Shortly after graduating from college, Jamie was commissioned into the New York Army National Guard as a Transportation Officer. Jamie is presently a 1st Lieutenant and assigned as the Executive Officer for the 719th Composite Truck Company. In 2017, Jamie joined the Paramus Volunteer Fire Department and became a Special 1 Police Officer with the Borough of Paramus.  Jamie then attended and graduated from the Morris County Police Academy in 2018. Jamie speaks both Korean and Japanese.

Hudson County Prosecutor s Office investigating fatal stabbing of Jersey City man

By John Heinis/Hudson County View This morning at approximately 2:45 a.m., the Jersey City Police Department received a report of a possible stabbing victim found in the area of 333 Ocean Ave., Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a statement. Upon arrival, responding police officers found a male with an apparent stab wound to his torso. The victim, later identified as Tyrone Haskins, 39, of Jersey City, was transported by Emergency Medical Services to the Jersey City Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at approximately 3:20 a.m. The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
