Secaucus police patrolling on County Road at 4 a.m. on March 1 pulled over Henry Singleton, 58, of Jersey City, knowing that he was wanted for prior offenses, Police Chief Dennis Miller said. Singleton was charged with burglarizing a tractor trailer chassis at 501 Penhorn Ave. on Feb. 24, 2020, burglarizing a warehouse at 20 Enterprise Ave. on Oct. 25, 2020, and breaking into a trailer at 550 Meadowlands Parkway earlier on the morning of his arrest. He was also charged with theft in each incident, as well as receiving stolen property and heroin possession, Miller said.

Rios, 35, of Jersey City, to 30 years in New Jersey state prison for the murder and sexual assault of Carolina Cano which occurred on March 24th, 2019 in Jersey City’s Lincoln Park, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a statement. Arre sentenced Rios to 30 years for the first-degree murder charge, which carries a mandatory minimum of 30 years of parole ineligibility. He also sentenced him to 10 years with a required 85 percent for the charge of aggravated sexual assault, which is to run concurrent to the 30 year sentence. Upon release, the defendant is subject to parole supervision for life and Megan’s Law.
