At least one person has complained about the sign to the Stockport officials and the New York State DOT.
“The sign on Route 9 I find, if not obscene, at least sexist,” a woman wrote to Stockport Town Clerk Sandy Novak, according to the Times Union. “If that were a Black man standing over a white woman or a white man standing over a Black woman or a Jew over a Christian or a Puerto Rican over a Lebanese it would be considered sexist, racist something like that.”

Audrey Strauss, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced Tuesday that 37-year-old Charles Hustis of Cold Spring was sentenced to five years in prison for attempted receipt of child pornography from a former student.
“Charles Hustis used his social media account to persuade a minor victim and former student to meet with him and perform sexual acts. In doing so, Charles Hustis repeatedly solicited pornographic pictures from the victim. This predatory behavior was a betrayal of the trust that the Cold Spring community placed in Charles Hustis, both as a former teacher and as a public official, U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss said.

On Tuesday around 3:30 p.m., New York State Police were dispatched to a serious personal injury accident on I-87, at mile marker 59.8, in the town of Newburgh.
A preliminary investigation determined a 2020 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by 64-year-old Michael L. Guerra of Albrightsville, PA, was traveling southbound when he struck a 1994 Peterbilt tractor-trailer operated by 37-year-old Adam S. Tommell of Voorheesville, NY, directly in the rear of the trailer, police say.
The Peterbilt was then pushed forward and struck the rear of a 2018 Ford Explorer, driven by 52-year-old Darrin C. Stark of Landing, NJ.

Joseph McCrimons, 46, of Mount Vernon, allegedly shot and killed 45-year-old Rasheeda Barzey and her two daughters, 20-year-old Solei Spears and 16-year-old Chloe Spears on Monday in Brooklyn.
McCrimons was at the Brooklyn home to attend his 9-year-old daughter s birthday party. Barzey is the 9-year-old girl s mother, the other two victims are the girl s half-sisters, CBS reports.
McCrimons, who is not the father to the two other girls, then fatally shot himself in the head, police say.
Police found the 9-year-old hiding in a closet around 11:30 p.m. She was the one to call 911, officials say.
