1 dead in Huntsville construction accident

The worker killed at a worksite off Jeff Road in Huntsville was unable to escape the collapsing dirt of the sidewall of a trench that collapsed.
The cause of death is traumatic asphyxiation as the result of compression from the substantial weight of the sidewall, said Madison County Coroner Dr. Tyler Berryhill.
Berryhill said the invesigation is ongoing.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
Don Webster, Huntsville Emergency Medical Services spokesman, said authorities responded to the site on the 400 block of Jeff Road.
Huntsville Police are investigating a deadly shooting Saturday afternoon on Mountain Park Circle.
The victim was found dead at the scene, according to HEMSI.

A man is dead following a shooting early Saturday afternoon.
According to Don Webster, a spokesperson for Huntsville Emergency Medical Services Inc. (HEMSI), paramedics were dispatched at 12:15 p.m. to the 2600 block of Mountain Park Circle.
When they arrived on scene, they found a 21-year-old male victim. According to Huntsville Police at the scene, a passerby saw the victim on the ground and called 911.

A female victim is in critical condition after a wreck Thursday night in Huntsville.

One person is in critical condition after a wreck in Huntsville Thursday night.
According to Don Webster with Huntsville Emergency Medical Services, it happened at Whitney Avenue and Meridian Street and involved one vehicle.
The time of call was 6:16 p.m. Webster says a female victim was transported to Huntsville Hospital in critical condition, and the wreck may be related to a medical issue.

The caver was suspended about 50 feet down inside the Hooper Well.
According to a Huntsville Fire & Rescue Facebook post, technical rescue crews deployed a haul system to extract the caver to safety.
The caver was uninjured.
Crews from Huntsville Fire & Rescue’s stations four, five and 15 responded to the incident around 9 a.m.
HEMSI (Huntsville Emergency Medical Services) and the Huntsville Police Department also responded.
