Seascape Restaurant to Reopen

click to enlarge The Seascape Restaurant is scheduled to reopen tomorrow after closing down last month month due to a COVID-19 positive individual who was infected as part of an outbreak connected to a Eureka church being at the Trinidad eatery. All employees who had contact with the one positive case have been tested and received COVID negative results, a news release from the Trinidad Rancheria states. Seascape Restaurant has been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected by an independent cleaning company following CDC guidelines. The outbreak traced back to the Eureka the Pentecostal Church congregation is driving a surge in local infections and hospitalizations, with health officials saying last week that offshoot cases were continuing to show up.

Highly Contagious COVID Variant Likely Circulating Broadly in Humboldt, Say Health Officials

Humboldt County Joint Information Center press release:  A recent spike in local cases of COVID-19 has been tied to the more infectious B.1.1.7 variant, sometimes referred to as the UK variant. Humboldt County Public Health officials urge county residents to protect themselves and the community by following COVID-19 prevention measures and getting vaccinated as soon as possible.   Routine genomic sequencing first identified the B.1.1.7 variant locally late last month, and eight more cases have been identified so far. Humboldt County Health Officer Dr. Ian Hoffman noted that this variant was likely circulating broadly in the community before it was detected. 

Public Health Reports 33 New COVID-19 Cases, Youngest Hospitalization To Date

Posted By Thadeus Greenson@ThadeusGreenson on Mon, May 3, 2021 at 3:15 PM Humboldt County Public Health reported today that it has confirmed 33 new COVID-19 cases since Friday, along with three new hospitalizations. Public Health also reported today that it has confirmed 17 COVID-related hospitalizations since last Monday, including nine patients under the age of 60 and one between the ages of 10 and 19, the youngest local resident hospitalized with the disease to date. According to a state database, 13 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19 locally, including four receiving intensive care. Today s cases were confirmed after laboratories processed 625 samples with a test-positivity rate of 5.3 percent, bringing the county s cumulative case total to 3,885.

Seascape Restaurant Reopens Tomorrow; Employees Test Negative Following COVID-19 Exposure, Trinidad Rancheria Says

Press release from the Trinidad Rancheria: The Trinidad Rancheria Tribal Government is pleased to announce that Seascape Restaurant will reopen on Tuesday, May 4, 2021! All Seascape employees have been tested for COVID- 19 and quarantined or isolated as needed based on current CDC Guidelines. While a single known positive case of COVID-19 was present at the Seascape Restaurant, the staff consistently practiced CDC-recommended COVID-19 procedures. Out of an abundance of caution, the Tribe closed the restaurant and worked closely with Humboldt County Public Health on contact tracing and testing to ensure that there were no known cases of COVID-19 transmitted at the Seascape restaurant.
