A no-confidence motion moved against the BJP-JJP government by the Opposition Congress was defeated in the Haryana Assembly on Wednesday (March 10). A total of 55 MLAs supported the government while 32 voted against the ruling dispensation in the state.
Haryana Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Wednesday moved a no-confidence motion in the state Assembly against Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khatter-led government. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday said it pained him when he saw his predecessor and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda riding a tractor during a protest and women legislators of the party pulling it with ropes.
At one point he seemed to be holding back his tears and said he could not sleep all night due to the visuals he saw on TV. This treatment to women MLAs was worse than bonded labour, he said in the state Assembly referring to a Congress protest against the rising fuel prices on Monday.

Chandigarh [India], March 10 (ANI): The farmers protest is not in favour of anyone, neither the general public and farmers nor the government and the Opposition, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said on Wednesday.
Addressing the media after his government successfully defeated Congress no-confidence motion, the Haryana Chief Minister said, Congress moved the no-confidence motion, and though they clarified that they have brought the motion to just start a conversation, we have defeated the motion.
He said the no-confidence motion gave his government an opportunity to put out clarification on all issues forward. We always do that in assembly, but opposition never hears us out, today they were compelled to stay and hear the whole thing.
We know that we will not win the confidence of the Opposition but we will take this opportunity to win the confidence of the masses , said Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday while replying to Congress no-confidence motion against the BJP-led state government. Reciting a couplet by poet Bashir Badr, Khattar said, Mukhalfat se meri shaksiyat sawarti hai, main dusmano ka bada aitram karta hun (Criticism makes my personality shine, I respect my enemies a lot). He also thanked the Opposition for providing him with an opportunity to recall the works done by his government in the last six years.
