Govt-farmers meeting ends; next round of talks likely on January 15
Sources said not much discussions could take place at the meeting and the next date has been decided after keeping in mind a scheduled hearing of Supreme Court on January 11.

NEW DELHI: The eighth round of talks between the government and representatives of protesting unions ended without any outcome on Friday and the next meeting is likely to take place on January 15, sources said.

Farmers and Centre on Friday met for the 8th round of talks over farm laws but the meeting ended without any decision as the farmers union remained adamant on their demand of repealing the laws, saying they would settle for nothing less than that. The talks failed to break an over-a-month-long deadlock, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said no decision could be reached as unions did not give alternatives to their demand for the repeal of laws.

New Delhi, Jan 7 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated the 306 km Rewari-Madar section of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor section and said the modern Dedicated Freight Corridor is a “game changer” for India in the 21st century.
Modi also flagged off world’s first Double Stack Long Haul 1.5 km in length ‘Container Train’ virtually between Haryana’s new Ateli and Rajasthan’s New Krishnanagar.
The event was also attended by Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra, Haryana Governor Satydev Narayan Arya, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, his deputy Dushyant Chautala and Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and several others.
