ILOILO CITY By the end of 2021, the population of Western Visayas region is projected to reach eight million.

The Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM-6) has come up with this projected figure based on geometric method of the 2015 census.
POPCOM-6 Regional Director Harold Alfred Marshall said the projected population for the end of 2021 will increase by 467,198 in comparison with the 2015 census, which was only 7.53 million people.
