Bicyclist Dies After Collision In Lenox Intersection

0:49 Lenox, Massachusetts police say a bicyclist has died from injuries sustained in an accident at an intersection described as “concerning.”  Police say 29-year-old Benjamin Kaplan of Westchester County, New York entered the intersection of East Street and Housatonic Street and collided with a Clifford Oil Company delivery truck that had the right of way on May 5th. “Many of the witnesses say that they observed him with what appeared to be a very out-of-control manner and were fearful that the bicyclist wasn’t going to be able to stop, said Lenox police chief Stephen O’Brien. Lee Select Board greenlights marijuana shop at Cork N Hearth site

LEE — Lee is a step closer to getting its second recreational marijuana store. After a two-hour public hearing Tuesday night, the Select Board unanimously backed a special permit for Forest Wilde LLC to convert the Cork ‘N Hearth into a facility to manufacture and sell marijuana products. The 3-0 vote followed mixed support for the project, dominated by the potential impact the facility would have on traffic on the state highway. The Zoom meeting also featured comments and dozens of letters from Lee residents, along with several Berkshire businesspeople, saying the company should have a chance to succeed. But, Lakehouse Inn owner Cody Gavin felt that the marijuana store didn’t belong next door to his establishment.
