Franklin now looking for new fire and police chiefs after retirement

Feb. 5 The city of
Franklin was already starting a search for a new fire/EMS chief, but as of Monday, it s also looking for a new police chief.
Newly promoted City Manager
Jonathan Westendorf began his new duties on
Jan. 1, 2021 and is still continuing his role as fire/EMS chief. On Monday, police Chief
Russ Whitman abruptly retired, effective Tuesday.
At Monday s council meeting, Whitman s retirement was accepted by a memorandum of understanding by council members. Lt.
Brian Pacifico will be the acting police chief until a search has been completed for a new police chief.
October 2019 through
$4,325 and increased to
$4,455 in the month-to-month lease. The property management firm and the owners of the property have been very, very generous to the township because not a lot of property managers will give a month-to-month lease after one year, Burks said.
At the outset the estimated cost to raze the 50-year-old station on
Duff Drive and build a new one was
