Jaxon Smith’s physical scars are obvious, but they’ll heal. It’s the emotional wounds that will take some time.  The Hamilton Heights High School senior was on his way to prom when the car he and three other friends were riding in was involved in an accident in Hamilton County. “I remember bits and pieces of the accident, I remember certain sequences,” said Smith. “I don’t remember the sequence that led up to the crash. I don’t even remember taking our prom pictures before.”

The two-car crash was reported around 5:15 p.m. near Lacy Road and East 281st Street near Arcadia, Hamilton County Sheriff s Office Deputy Ryan McClain said. In a statement posted on Facebook, the Hamilton Heights School Corporation said all scheduled prom activities were canceled and counselors would be available at the Elite Banquet Center in Kokomo and at the Hamilton Heights High School Media Center until 11 p.m. Saturday.
