Snowfall like what Greater Cincinnati saw overnight Monday into Tuesday had wide-reaching impacts across the region, and the efforts to vaccinate people against the coronavirus were not immune to its effects.
While some COVID-19 vaccine providers were able to keep their appointments uninterrupted Tuesday, others like those run by the Hamilton County Health Department said they will have to reschedule.

The Hamilton County Health Department has added 4,597 first dose Pfizer appointments to the schedule. With the increase in doses, the Health Department announced the opening of a third vaccination site located at the Enterprise South Nature Park, 190 Still Hollow Loop.
Health Department Administrator Becky Barnes said, “Opening a vaccination site at Enterprise South Nature Park allows us to expand our efforts to another part of Hamilton County. We are delighted for the opportunity to offer the vaccine at three locations.”

Despite being eligible, homebound seniors finding access to COVID vaccine a challenge

CINCINNATI â Nancy Elcho of Mount Lookout has been eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine since Jan. 19, but as of Thursday, she still had not.
That s because, like some other seniors across Ohio, the 94-year-old cannot leave her house to go get the vaccine, her son and caretaker, John, told WCPO.
The Wayne County Health Department will hold another drive-through vaccination clinic tomorrow, beginning at 9 a.m. People should go to the staging area at the Wayne County Fairgrounds by using the east entrance to the property on West Main Street. People will then be directed by staff when it is their turn to go to the health department for the vaccine. As with previous clinics in the county, there is no reservation list, and the clinic will be conducted in a first-come, first-serve manner.
