An air quality alert has been issued by the Southwest Ohio Air Quality Agency for Tuesday across the Cincinnati area.
The alert is a signal that levels of ozone are expected to be in the unhealthy for sensitive groups range in the region s air quality index, according to a release from the agency.
The counties included in the alert are Butler, Clermont, Hamilton and Warren counties in Ohio; and Boone, Campbell, and Kenton counties in Kentucky; and Dearborn County in Indiana.
The agency offers tips to improve air quality Tuesday including riding the bus, walking or biking, filling up gas tanks after 8 p.m., and avoiding letting a car sit idling. Combing trips, not mowing lawns, avoiding using oil-based paints and stains, turning off lights and appliances, and not using firepits or campfires are other ways to help improve the air quality, according to the release.
