Police: Turpin student attempted to film inside girls locker room Share Updated: 3:53 PM EST Feb 18, 2021 WLWT Digital Staff Share Updated: 3:53 PM EST Feb 18, 2021 WLWT Digital Staff WLWT Digital Staff A 15-year-old Turpin High School student is now facing criminal charges, accused of secretly recording video on his cellphone in the girls’ locker room.It happened Jan. 23 after a swim meet at the school.Three girls, two 15-year-olds and a 17-year-old, reportedly found a phone that was recording in their locker room. According to an incident report from the Hamilton County Sheriff s Office, the phone was set up on an HVAC pipe in the rafters of the locker room. The report states that the three girls found the phone and stopped the recording. The 15-year-old boy who was filming reportedly met the girls at the door of the locker room, asking if they had seen his phone. One of the girls airdropped the video to her cellphon

Clergy Group Alleges Excessive Force Against Sheriff s Office; Sheriff Hammond Responds Wednesday, February 17, 2021 Chattanooga Clergy and community members said they were demanding the Sheriff s Office release a public report detailing training standards and more surrounding policies of excessive force. They said they wanted this report to be sent out by March 12 at the latest. Sheriff Jim Hammond on Wednesday replied to the group. The sheriff s office recently took over operation of the Silverdale Detention Center and has made a number of sweeps at the facility seeking contraband and weapons. A number of shanks have been found. In a press release sent out on Sunday afternoon, the Chattanooga Clergy for Justice said:

Gilreath, 36, died Feb. 12 of complications related to COVID-19. He was a 15-year veteran of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. “During those 15 years, Donnie became a very well-loved member of our department,” Sheriff Charmaine McGuffey said at Gilreath’s funeral Wednesday afternoon. “He was so well-loved that many people, many people have come down to the jail that were not in uniform to express their grief and their loss.”
