Ford transit van overturns following two-vehicle collision on A303

Live updates as van overturns on A303; police warn disruptions A Ford transit van has been involved in a two-vehicle collision on the A303 this (Friday) afternoon. The accident occurred when a Volkswagen Beetle overtook a lorry and swerved to avoid the van. However, the van driver had to quickly turn to avoid a collision and flipped onto its roof. Police said there was no injuries, but road users can expect a lot of disruption whilst they recover the vehicle. A photo released by the police showed the Ford transit van on its roof. The accident happened at the P20 exit Eastbound near the Buck services petrol station in Andover.

Uninsured driver in Romsey stopped by Hampshire police

A VAN driver allegedly without insurance, who police said later failed a drugs test was stopped by police in Romsey last night.  The white vehicle was pulled over by Hampshire Roads Policing team at around 9pm on Monday (April 26), and the driver was found to be without tax and insurance.  Hampshire police tweeted about the incident, revealing that the driver had been arrested and the vehicle seized.  The Daily Echo has contacted Hampshire Constabulary for more information.  The driver of this Transit caught our attention tonight in #Romsey. Winchester man charged with drink driving on M3 near Basingstoke

Test: Most drink drivers are caught through a breath test A POLICE car was nearly taken out by a drink driver who had been seen swerving on the M3 last night (Thursday). Officers stopped a Mercedes on the M3 near Basingstoke at around 6.30pm after it had been spotted veering along the motorway. Hampshire Roads Policing Unit said on Twitter: “Pulled up alongside it to see if the driver distracted by phone and it nearly took the police car out. “Car stopped on hard shoulder where driver blew 117 and then 116 in custody.” The legal limit is 35 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath.
