Man who planned to rape 8-yr-old in Sutton Scotney jailed

A man who arrived at Sutton Scotney Services with lubricant, sex toys and restraints to attempt the rape of an eight-year-old has been jailed for eight years. Lance Baynes, formerly of Cedar Close in Walsall, was arrested on August 21 after he travelled 120 miles with the intent of abusing the girl. He was due to meet with another man to carry out the offence, but this was part of a police sting, and was arrested by officers after arriving. A subsequent appearance at Winchester Crown Court on November 23 revealed that he was communicating sexually with a 13-year-old girl, as well as administrating an account to exchange explicit images of children with others.
