Entertainment venues are starting to do what was unthinkable a year ago: schedule live shows for in-person audiences.
Governor Wolf’s administration has announced that statewide COVID-19 restrictions on businesses will be lifted as of Memorial Day, and that the state’s mask mandates in public will end once 70 percent of the eligible population has been vaccinated. But even prior to those announcements, many entertainment venues had been taking slow steps back towards live events.
“Obviously, all live music venues were kind of first to close,” said John Harris, talent booker with XL Live in Harrisburg and organizer of the Millennium Music Conference. “And as witnessed now, we are last to open.”
